About this space

Samadhi’s Birdhouse is a quiet retreat perched atop a tiny peninsula that juts out into the southern portion of Clear Lake reaching toward Mount Konocti [Mountain Woman in Pomo]. Water surrounds you on all sides as birds abound. You’ll see pelicans streaming past; egrets finding their familiar ground; eagles, hawks, and turkey vultures looking down in curiosity. Deer, jackrabbits, and wild turkey graze together while melodic birdsong fills the air.

Samadhi’s Birdhouse sits high atop a volcanic ridge. It has an unobstructed view, a front row seat, of majestic Mount Konocti, one of California’s active volcanoes, always present from inside and out through large windows, sliding glass doors, and two decks offering space to enjoy special moments. Each sunset is its own spectacular show as the sun sets behind the mountain. Each sunrise makes the mountain glow in shades of orange and red. Each moon rise and set makes the water sparkle. And the stars... to die for.

Come watch the colorful array of birds swoop by at eye level and listen to complete silence, the lake lapping on the shore below, and individual bird song mingle. The space is designed to bring the outside in.

"A true delight. It was hard to leave here in the morning. The lake is beautiful at night for the stars and in the morning for the peaceful blue skies. The place itself is so clean and spacious and we loved every second of it. There's even board games and other fun stuff to get into when you're not enjoying the scenic views."

"You’ll really feel like you’ve ‘gotten away’. Narrow, curvy roads to get there. Beautiful space and view when you arrive. Feels spacious and light. Beds were comfortable. I don’t recommend a quick overnight, but rather at least two nights to truly relax."

Guests have the whole place to themselves with access to the upstairs 2-bedroom home, half acre of land, gardens, outdoor tub, hammocks, and communal beach (5 minute walk down hill).

There is a studio apartment below with a full mattress, two twin bunk beds, kitchenette, and full bathroom available upon request for an additional fee.

"Jessica's place is absolutely spectacular. The view from the back porch is stunning, and we really enjoyed just hanging out watching the birds and sunsets go by. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of space to spread out."

No shoes in the house please.
