About this space

'The Wool Store' at The Old Sheep Farm
Situated in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) yet still only a short drive from the seaside town of Llanfairfechan, this 2-bedroom rural retreat is full of character. The original rustic charm has been perfectly paired with modern amenities, so you can enjoy the exposed beams and cosy wood-burner, alongside underfloor heating and a spa-style shower.
Views of the hills rolling down to the sea on the North Wales coast, this really is a special place to stay.

The space

This property is part of a small holding so from the moment you arrive at your destination, you will see how special this place is. You will be greeted by the communal patio area where - if the great Welsh weather allows - you can while away your time enjoying some food or a tipple or even make use of the BBQ and firepit. Of course you also have your own patio to enjoy at the front of the property should you so wish.

Upon entering 'The Wool Store', you can kick off your shoes in the porch, hang up your coat and let your break away begin. When you first see the open plan lounge/diner, you will immediately get a feel for how this space has been lovingly restored to keep a wealth of original features. You can light the woodburner and sit back on the Chesterfield sofas and soak up the atmosphere, unless of course you're warm enough from the underfloor heating!

Head on through to the well-equipped kitchen, tastefully decorated with wooden block work surfaces and a Belfast sink. With a freestanding fridge freezer, oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and toaster, there should be everything you need to rustle up a home-cooked meal during your stay. You could also use the pizza oven in the top of the woodburner if you're feeling adventurous!

The luxurious home comforts don't end there, the bathroom has a spa-style walk-in shower with mister jets, just what you will need after a day out walking in the rolling Snowdonia hills.

Carry on upstairs to the two cozy bedrooms, one double to your left and one twin to your right. The quirky shape of these rooms with their exposed beams really capture the true essence of The Wool Store and will be a welcome place to relax at the end of the day.

Outside you can access the orchard, the enclosed dog field should you bring your furry friend, and the communal patio area.

For things such as coal and logs, the washing machine and storage for all the exciting things like bikes and kayaks, you are able to use the 'Boot Room' which sits at the opposite end of the row of cottages from 'The Hayloft'.
The views down over to Anglesey and Puffin Island on a clear day really are something to behold, and there is direct access to the Carneddau mountain range for walking and mountain biking. And that's not to mention the nearby nature reserve.

Guest access

You can access the entire space of 'The Wool Store'. This includes the front patio, the communal courtyard, the orchard and the enclosed dog field. 'The Boot Room' is also available for use by guests.

Other things to note

Due to the nature of this property, there is limited head height in the bedrooms. There are also uneven ground surfaces around the property and areas of water. Guests are asked to be mindful of this.
Please note that the dog field is surrounded in fencing but we do ask that dogs are supervised in case one makes for an escape. Please note dogs are only allowed downstairs in the cottage.
There are chickens belonging to the small holding which are allowed to roam freely.
There is a river running next to the farm in the nature reserve by the property entrance. There is also a pond and water on the farm. Due to the nature of the property, any children on site need to be under adult supervision at all times.
Access to the property is via Valley Road that winds up through the village and then turns into a single track country lane. It is fully passable by car, SUV and van and there are passing places along the route.
