About this space
Welcome to Still by the River, a studio cabin retreat located in Three Rivers, CA! Nestled in the foothills below Sequoia National Park and the Great Western Divide of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, our studio offers idyllic country relaxation, small town charm and access to magnificent natural wonders just a hop, skip and a jump (or bike ride) up the road.
The space
As you arrive for your stay, enjoy free parking directly in front of the private outdoor lounge area. To enter the guest house, follow the path to the left—using the silver garden lights as your guide—taking you to the breezeway connecting the main A-frame house and the studio cabin. Your entrance will be on the right, below the spiral staircase.
*Note: Please reference your booking email for your unique code to access the key-less entry. Keep this code in a safe and secure location. To ensure the privacy of our guests we create unique access codes with each booking. If you lose your access code, please send us a message and we will provide you with a new code after checking identification against your reservation record.
NO access to: Areas behind the curtains in the outdoor lounge area, the spiral staircase and the pathway behind the spiral staircase (private backyard for the hosts). Due to low water levels in the mid-to-late summer months, we do not offer river access during July and August.

Bathroom
After a long day of adventuring in Sequoia or Mineral King, nothing beats winding down in Still by the River. With plenty of clean towels and bathmats, our bathroom is also outfitted with a stall-sized shower and extended shower head, convenient for our taller guests. Also located in the bath area, guests who are visiting Three Rivers for events or weddings can find a hairdryer and clothing steamer (if hiking isn’t your primary objective during your stay).
Outdoor Lounge
Enjoy the quiet relaxation of our stylish lounge area, outfitted with dimly lit market lights and solar pendant lights for ambiance. Not just for evening relaxing, the bench seating and Adirondack chairs are perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and breakfast in the mornings. Feel free to bring a portable Bluetooth speaker with you—since the area is quite private, the hosts will not be able to hear your music but do keep in mind that we have neighbors and to extend noise courtesy during quiet hours after 10pm and before 7am.
Other things to note

Location, location, location
Still by the River is located 1.5 miles from the main town center of Three Rivers, 7.4 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park, 7.5 miles from Lake Kaweah and 28 miles from Mineral King. The town center includes access to restaurants, coffee shops, organic fruit and vegetable vendors, a local craft brewery, gift and artist shops and more, plus a village market for basic necessities and groceries which can be stored in the mini fridge in the studio cabin.
Given the proximity to Sequoia Nat’l Park and other preserved natural areas, wildlife is present in the general area. On occasion deer, and even bears, will make their way into populated areas, and sometimes even near the North Fork where we are located! It is important to exercise wildlife safety during your stay, such as properly disposing of food and drinks from your car and when using the outdoor lounge area. Just like any visit to a national park, it is vital to be aware of your surroundings, and to “leave it better than you found it” as a good rule of thumb.
To brush up on your outdoor and wildlife knowledge for a safe stay, links to popular hikes and/or campsites and general information about the environment, including fire danger levels (we are in California after all!) the National Parks websites are great sources for that information.
