About this place

The apartment is among the best and most unique available in the lively East Village. It’s a second-floor walk up with a private terrace/fire escape, large kitchen, spacious living room, large back deck with bbq, wi-fi, pressed-tin ceilings, roof access, etc. It has a lot of character; a very homey but spacious feeling with high ceilings, lots of artwork, plants, books, hardwood floors, exposed brick, etc.

The space

This is one of three rooms in a large 3-bedroom apartment inhabiting the second floor of a classic brick building in the East Village.

This room is large, open and has a comfortable queen-sized bed. It sits directly above an art gallery and has plants, a large desk and a private terrace/fire escape.

The main inhabitants of the apartment are two male Americans, a photographer and a writer, so you will be sharing the common spaces with one or both of us. The house has a warm, inviting feel with a lot of history and we are looking for good people to share it with!

Guest access

Guests have access to the all of the common spaces, including the back deck, kitchen, living room, bathroom, fire escape, etc.

During your stay

We are helpful, sociable and pleasant but also busy in our own lives. We just ask that guests are respectful of our time and space and we will do the same!

Other things to note

Just to be clear, you would be renting a room out in our 3 bedroom home. If you're looking for a slightly more anonymous hospitality experience, perhaps a hotel room would be a better fit! Staying with us will give you the experience of what it feels like to live with engaged locals in a classic apartment in one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the world. But if it is bespoke amenities and a concierge service that you require, this is not for you.

It should also be noted that this is not the quietest apartment, nor the quietest building nor the quietest neighborhood. It is in the center of the action so please expect the possibility of a certain amount of chaos. We all do are best to keep the apartment quiet from 10pm-9am but sh*t happens, so please understand that you will not be living in a vacuum.
