The space

At Glashaus, you will experience the ultimate fusion of nature and luxury, a breathtaking work of art nestled among ancient rock formations and overlooking the shimmering waters of New Melones Lake. **IMPORTANT SUMMER NOTES**
1. The dome does get very warm during the day and was designed for nighttime stargazing and sleeping under the stars. It is not an air-conditioned hotel so please plan outside activities during your stay so you can enjoy Glashaus as it was meant to be. There are blackout curtains, fans and an AC but as we are solar powered, the AC is meant for limited use as needed for your comfort and cannot be run for extended periods. The lights and fans are okay to run all the time.
2. The indoor fireplace is turned off in summer. If you want to have an indoor fire during your stay, advise us before your arrival so the gas and pilot light can be switched on.
3. Outdoor fires are suspended due to extreme wildfire risk. We have added a 50,000 BTU gas fire table for your outdoor fire enjoyment.

ABOUT THE SPACE
Step inside to find a meticulously designed interior that marries contemporary comfort with the serenity of the great outdoors. The interior is thoughtfully furnished with a stylish iron queen-sized bed, luxe bedding, a chic chrome and acrylic bistro set, and comfortable futons for added seating. Wrap around black out curtains will shroud you from the summer sun or add privacy for those who desire it. The mid-century modern remote controlled gas fireplace adds warmth and romantic ambiance for use in winter months.

A private deck extends from the dome, providing the perfect setting for morning coffee, sunset cocktails, or stargazing. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and relish the tranquility of this unique retreat.

Strategically perched among ancient rock outcroppings, Glashaus offers guests unparalleled privacy and a front-row seat to nature's wonders. Explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area, take a hike on the 20 acres, or simply relax with a soak in the outdoor clawfoot tub perched on the rocks.

While Glashaus immerses you in nature, it doesn't compromise on modern conveniences. Enjoy a luxurious spa-like detached wet-room bathroom with a shower that overlooks the lake via a floor to ceiling window and solar powered electric outlet to keep you comfortable and connected. LED lighting in the dome and bath can be changed with your mood and, if your desire is to bond with nature, indulge in the divine outdoor shower flowing through copper pipes and nestled in the bosom of million-year-old rock formations.

The grounds at night are equally spectacular with lighting in the trees, globe lighting on the deck and path lighting to guide your way at any hour.

If you love cookouts, make use of the BBQ (propane is provided) and dine under the covered pavilion to stay cool in summer months. The pavilion has mosquito netting to ensure a bug free experience. There is also a sink for washing up.

After dinner, be sure and enjoy the viewing platform with ample seating, chaise loungers, gas fire table and cantilevered umbrella.
