Remote 300 sq ft solar powered cabin in the ponderosa forest 7 miles from the town of Mancos by Mancos State Park. Great place to stay in the area while on your trip to the southwest or Mesa Verde National Park. A pleasant place for guests who want to unplug, relax, and enjoy a rustic outdoor wilderness experience. Great trails for hiking, bird watching, cross country skiing and snow shoeing! Note: If a big winter you will need a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle to access the neighborhood.

hidden gem sits smack dab in the middle of a 40 acre ponderosa forest. It is perfect for those who are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and slow down to enjoy nature in a wifi free and off grid space. Unwind and relax in style and in nature. Amazing views of the Sleeping Ute mountain, Mesa Verde, and Bauer lake from the canyon's edge right from the cabin porch.

This old hunting cabin was built in 1983, unfinished and after sitting abandoned for 30+ years we began the build out in 2018. After 2 years of remodeling it is finally perfect! (At least we think so.)

The 300 square foot cabin is great for a solitary retreat, a couples get away or a small family vacation! There is a queen bed and a pullout couch which turns into a full bed. Gas stove top and oven, indoor heat, and hot water. Electricity is completely solar. In the winter months grab your favorite book or game and cozy up by the wood burning stove. In the summer months, grab the burgers and steaks and enjoy a picnic and barbecue with the grill. Or sit on the porch with a cup of java and enjoy the crisp morning air in the spring and autumn months.

This semi remote area is very private and secluded! Cool hiking trails through the woods in the summer right on the property. In the winter trek around the property in the snow with cross country skis or snow shoes. In late September and October enjoy the fall magic as the trees put on a brilliant array of colors in the canyons of the property.

We are next to an International Dark Sky Park which means excellent star viewing at night and spectacular sunsets over Sleeping Ute in the spring and autumn evenings.

Guests have entire access to cabin and 40 acre property with two main hiking trails, and access to chicken creek.

No Pets in the cabin please! Keep them tied up outside or in your car.

One queen size bed and one pull out couch that turns into another full size bed. Perfect for 1-4 people. (Family of four)

Tea kettle for hot water and french press for coffee maker.

Cell phone service is limited based on carrier coverage. Verizon has complete coverage. AT&T has pretty good coverage. Smaller providers may have no coverage at all. If this is the case please let me know so we can set up a means of communication.

Please note! Solar battery has limited ability. It will not tolerate items such as: crock pots, microwaves, and other high energy use appliances. For high energy use items a generator is available. Just ask.

There is no sun at night which means you are on battery power. To keep from depleting the battery please do not use items that run all night such as fans, c-paps, or other devices that continuously pull power throughout the night. Charging phones, computers and other devices are completely fine.
