About this space

I decorated the apartment so that guests could experience the great age of the Florentine Renaissance with their own skin.
The environment is full of details and decorations.

The space

To realize the Renaissance design I've studied scrupulously the Florentine interiors in the XIV-XV centuries on frescoes, pictures, furnitures exposed in museums in Florence. Then I searched for the best craftsmen.
The floors in the apartment are in tiles, the ceiling are decorated with wooden beams. The walls in the sitting room are divided into three parts: the medium part is coloured in bronze yellow and decorated with the paradise trees; between the trees there are paintings on the ancient wood in the gilded wooden frames, fragments from Benozzo Gozzoli "Corteo dei Magi", fresco of the Daddi school, fresco "Villa di Fannius Sinistor". The upper part of the walls id decorated by the Paradise garden - copy of the fresco discovered in the Villa of Livia of the 1st century a.C.
The entrance to the apartment is orientated to the splendid view on the Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. This main axis is reinforced by the wooden chandeliers in the form of pine-apples.
The niche of the french window is decorated in the same way as the Cathedral, as if it were continued. To the right there is a shell shaped fireplace of gilded cast iron, the upper part of the fireplace is inspired by the painting of Andrea Mantegna in the San Zeno Church in Verona. To the right of the fireplace there is a painted peacock - symbol of Eternity, from the painting of Carlo Crivelli "Annunciation with Saint Emidio".
The shell sofa was realized by three Florentine craftsmen. It was inspired by the painting of Piero della Francesca in the Brera Art Gallery. The shell symbolises the Glory of Renaissance! The back of the sofa in the form of a shell was made of one piece of wood and then gilded. It has seven petals which are continued by seven petals in silk velvet which was in fashion in the Renaissance period. The architectonic ensemble of the sofa is further decorated by twelve small gilded wooden shells and twelve silvered wooden pearls. The wooden pouffe on the base decorated as if it were marble is ornated by a pillow from the same silk velvet.
The handmade wooden china cabinet and the cupboard are carved in the style of the transit period from the late Gothic to the Renaissance.
The wooden desk is made in the form of theBaptistery divided in two.
The TV frame is decorated with wooden scene curtains and wooden dolphins - symbol of Fortune. The air-conditioner is hidden behind the tapestry which represents the famous fresco of Simone Martini "Guidoroccio da Fogliano".
There are two Savonarola chairs reminding of the famous monk Savonarola and his story.
The niche of another french window is decorated with illusionary columns and shutters in ancient stained glass.
The door leading to the bedroom is painted as a bookcase. The bedroom is preceded by an anti-room with a small library and a flemish tapestry "Unicorn" on the wall - symbol of purity. The walls in the bedroom are in dark turquoise with gilded flowers. The king size bed and two wardrobes compose an architectonic complex. The bed is decorated with a multicoloured velvet canopy in fashion in the XV century. On the floor there are handmade rugs. The wooden ceiling is decorated with wooden plates. The door to the bathroom is painted as if it were a stone panel of the XV century.
At the entrance in the apartment there is a wardrobe of aged oak which is decorated with ancient mirrors and cushions of red sil velvet with 56 golden buttons.
The heaters in the apartment are of gilded cast iron a la Tiffany.
The walls and the ceiling in the guest bathroom are painted with sunflowers, inspired by the Sunflower of Bartolomeo Bimbi. The ceiling in the master bathroom is decorated by the Angels of Raffaello and the walls in the tecnique of the geometric pebble design of Johannes Vielmetter. The wooden cosmetic shelves on the walls are silvered.
The kitchen is painted in olive and its windows are decorated with copies of the Tiepolo paintings.

P.S. Reading the reviews of my guests, I feel really satisfied with the work done. The reviews of my guests are very important to me, their feedback makes me happy!
